Meet Hemant and Pooja from Namaste Inbhir Nis

Namaste Inbhir Nis is run by husband and wife duo Hemant and Pooja and they promise to bring you authentic Indian flavours. Here they tell us more about their business

1. Tell us about yourself

Myself, Hemant and my wife, Pooja are from Delhi, India – a place of diversity in food and culture. I have been a chef for more than 20 years and actually have a master’s degree in hotel management. I have worked at four and five-star restaurants from Oberoi Amarvilas in Agra, near the Taj Mahal, the Turnberry Hotel, and the Fairmont St Andrews.

2. Tell us about the history of your shop

Being a chef for more than 20 years I believe the way to win everyone’s heart is through their stomach! Pooja and I wanted to bring authentic Indian flavours to the Food & Drink Hall in The Victorian Market  and so “Namaste Inbhir Nis” was born. We couldn’t of found a better place to showcase our business.

3. What is the best thing about being part of the VM?

The Victorian Market is right in the city centre and is busy and lively – a perfect place to start our new venture. We are delighted to have found this spot which hosts a wonderful variety of food businesses for people to try.  It’s constantly growing and seems to be a real hub to bring the Inverness community together.

4. Why should people try your food?

We are committed to creating an authentic Indian atmosphere, complete with traditional decor and music. Indian street food is full of flavors, aroma, texture and we definitely give you a glimpse and taste of this at Namaste Inbhir Nis.

5. Anything else you would like to share?

We’re proud to be able to share our culture with the people of Inverness. We hope that our corner of the Food and Drink Hall will become a gathering place to come together and enjoy a taste of India. Find us along from Ollie’s Pops right at the Church Street entrance.  We can’t wait to welcome you.
